John Handley High School Renovation

Expansive four phase renovation of Winchester, Virginia’s prestigous high school.  Over 250,000 square feet of space was renovated and a 37,000 square feet second floor expansion was added.  The stadium bleachers and press boxes were also upgraded and expanded.

Valley Farm Credit

This stunning office building located in Frederick County, Virginia was built in three phases.  The building has 27,000 square feet of space.  The main level floor is framed with concrete on steel joists, and the upper level floor is framed with wood joists.  The roof framing features timber trusses with circular bolted guesset plates.

Navy Federal Credit Union Call Center

This 120,000 square feet call center is located in Winchester, Virginia.  This building has concrete tilt-up wall panels and a steel joists on steel joist girders roof system.  Structural Concepts was highly involved in monitoring construction and providing construction administration services for this project.

Mercury Paper

A 430,000 square feet paper processing plant in Strasburg, VA.  This building has concrete tilt-up wall panels and a steel joists on steel joist girders roof system.  SCI also provided design services for multiple crane runways and auxiliary building additions

Jefferson Scholars Foundation and Center for Graduate Fellows

This building is located at the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, VA.  The building consists of three distinct but connected stuctures.  The floors are framed with concrete on composite steel beams.  The roof system is exposed Glue-Lam beams and exposed wood plank decking.

3801 University Drive

This building is a 25,000 square feet, three story, steel framed office building located in Fairfax, Virginia.  The exterior is brick veneer and EIFS on light gage steel stud framing.  The floors are framed with concrete on composite steel beams.  The roof is framed with steel joists.  Sixteen feet high retaining walls were also built on the site.
